Can you suggest a device to help my dad put on his socks independently?

My father-in-law is now struggling with reaching down to pull his socks on. What can you recommend for this?

There are a number of devices available on the market that are designed to help people put on their socks. Below are direct links to some products that you may want to explore:

  • TPolyethylene Stocking Aid, by Drivehe Polyethylene Stocking Aid by Drive Medical (at vitalmobility.ca) helps with putting on socks when bending down is difficult. This product costs about $17 to $20(CDN), plus a shipping fee.
  • TThe Terry Cloth Sock Aid, by BIOS  Medical Medicalhe Terry Cloth Sock Aid  by BIOS (at agecomfort.com) can also be used to put on socks. This device, which has a nylon lining allowing the foot to slide more easily, costs about $28(CDN) plus a shipping fee.
