Phones these days can be difficult for seniors to use, especially as we move more towards smartphones and touchscreens. However, there are commercial phones specially designed for older users.
Agecomfort.com, for example, has a number of simple, programmable phones that might be suitable for your mom. Here is a direct link to agecomfort.com’s programmable phone selection.
In particular, you may be interested in Clarity’s P300 Amplified Photo Phone (at agecomfort.com), which has large buttons and numbers, nine programmable photo buttons, and loud, clear sound. This device is also available at a number of other online retailers, including Shoppers Home Health Care and Staples Canada. This device costs about $70 to $80 (Cdn), plus a shipping fee.
Some technologies and devices may require an in-person assessment. Speak with your health care provider for additional information and support.
