How can I stay well illuminated while going on early morning walks?

Question

My wife likes to go on morning walks even before the sun is up and I worry about her falling or not being seen in the dark by cars. She refuses to use a flashlight but are there other items I could get her to illuminate the road ahead and herself, maybe like a light up cane?

Our answer
